Read about Julia’s Review of the year over 2022/2023

Hello, my name is Julia and I am President for the year 2022/23. I have been a Rotarian for 17 years. It has proved to be a life line following the sudden death of my husband. I have travelled to India with the eradication of Polio campaign, done an exchange with Rotarians from California and visited numerous Rotary clubs there.  I’ve also visited clubs in Capetown, Melbourne, Penang, to name a few. Seeing other Rotarians ‘at work’ and supporting  their charities is a real eye-opener and I have loved every minute.

The special charity I have chosen to help during my presidency is the Yorkshire Air Ambulance but I would also like to install a defibrillator somewhere in the local community. Of course, alongside those ideas we will still be supporting numerous other causes.

For example, St Peter’s Primary School in inner city Leeds. Some of our members help out in the garden and in the library. Others have been voted onto the Governing Body and we have raised money for a new Sensory Room.

Would you like to know more? Then contact us and we will invite you to one of our weekly meetings.

We look forward to giving you a warm welcome.
