President Patricia Waite Wright is seen presenting the two cups for the winners of Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
The KS1 winner was a four year old from Eritrea; his first language is Tigrani. His chosen poem was Edward Lear’s ‘The Owl and the Pussy-cat.
This is the twelfth years of the competition and celebrates the friendship and support that Headingley Rotary Club has enjoyed with the School. The School choir, under the leadership of John Robertson, entertains us each year at our Christmas lunch. Three of our members are governors of the School and several members are active on a weekly basis, organising the library and hearing pupils’ reading.
