Once again, ably led by Tony Ray, we had a very interesting walk around another part of Headingley looking at the styles of architecture mainly during the 19th Century.
Starting at Woodies, behind The Three Horseshoes, we discovered the earliest cottages to the grand mansions of the Victorian era. Most interesting was the glimpse of the old Catholic school for the down and outs amid the overgrown area next to the Masonic Hall, Castle Grove. There were so many lovely buildings to admire on foot when normally going undetected when driving past.
We then ended up at the Golden Bean in Headingly for well earned refreshments and meeting up with some other members.
