We had our own celebrations during our meeting on this special anniversary of the end of the War.
Before Lunch President Chris presented Laura, from Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice, a cheque for £1000. Laura explained how much they appreciated this and we invited her to join us lunch.

Others visitors included Mark and Helen Platt from ‘The History Bunker’ who very generously loaned us three uniforms for the President Chris, President Elect Julia and Vice president Marion representing the three armed forces.
We thought they looked splendid in their uniforms!
Finally we had various members giving their memories of the war or at least what their parents had been doing!
